Friday Night Lights Program Description (Grades 3rd–6th)

The Friday Night Lights program provides a safe, structured, and fun after‑school experience for students in grades 3rd–6th on every Home Varsity Football Game night. Students participate in activities at the Crawford County YMCA before walking with staff to the Denison High School Football Stadium for parent pickup and optional game attendance.

Kids are not required to attend the football game. Children who are not going to the game may stay at the YMCA for parent pickup, and staff will remain on‑site supervising those students until they are signed out.

Program Time: 4:00–6:30 PM

Location: Crawford County YMCA → Walk to Denison High School Football Stadium

Program Schedule

• Check‑In (4:00–4:10 PM) Students arrive at the YMCA. Staff check them in and direct them to the program area.
• Activity Block (4:10–5:00 PM) Featured Activity (example): Glow‑Ball Dodgeball Featured Craft (example): Painting Students rotate through fun, supervised activities designed to build teamwork and creativity.
• Snack Break (5:00–5:30 PM) Snack: Granola bar + juice Kids can sit, talk, relax, and prepare for the game. Staff remind students to gather jackets, water bottles, and belongings.
• Free Choice / Cool‑Down (5:30–5:50 PM) Options include board games, coloring, or light gym play while staff complete attendance and prepare for departure.
• Walk to Stadium (5:50–6:30 PM) Staff begin walking groups across the street starting at 5:50 PM. Kids may leave in waves depending on readiness. YMCA supervision continues at the stadium gate until 6:30 PM.

Parent Pickup & Supervision Policy

• Supervision Ends (6:30 PM) YMCA supervision ends at the stadium gate once parents have signed their child out.
• Sign‑Out Requirement Parents must sign children out by 7:00 PM at the picnic tables.
• Parent Pickup Window Parents may pick up their child anytime after 6:30 PM at the stadium
