The Youth Weight Room Orientation is a required safety and training session for Members Only in 7th and 8th grade. This orientation allows youth to access the Weight Room, Cardio Area, and Strive equipment once completed.

Beginning May 23rd, graduated 6th graders will be recognized as 7th graders and must complete this class before using any equipment upstairs.

To accommodate busy schedules, the YMCA offers three sessions each day. Youth only need to attend one session to complete the requirement.

Each session is limited to 5 spots, ensuring a safe, hands‑on learning environment.

During this orientation, participants will learn:

• How to use equipment safely and correctly
• YMCA rules and expectations for the upstairs fitness areas
• Proper behavior, etiquette, and responsibility while on the fitness floor
• How to identify which equipment they are allowed to use and which equipment is restricted
