Youth Volleyball Program is a fun and engaging way for kids to learn the fundamentals of volleyball while staying active and building confidence. Players will develop basic skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, and teamwork in a supportive and positive environment.

The program emphasizes sportsmanship, communication, and having fun, with practices and games designed to help young athletes enjoy the game while improving their skills. Whether your child is new to volleyball or looking to sharpen their abilities, this program offers a safe and encouraging environment to grow both on and off the court.

The Crawford County YMCA Volleyball Fundamentals Camp is a 5‑week skill‑building program designed for both new athletes and experienced players who want to learn and strengthen the core fundamentals of volleyball. Participants will explore the ins and outs of the sport through engaging drills, age‑appropriate instruction, and positive coaching that builds confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game.

Throughout the camp, players develop essential skills such as passing, setting, serving, hitting, court movement, and game awareness. Coaches teach not only how to perform each skill, but also when and why it matters during real gameplay. The program emphasizes proper technique, sportsmanship, and fun—ensuring every athlete leaves with improved ability and excitement for volleyball.

Practice Schedule

1st–2nd Grade

  • Thursdays, 5:30–6:15 PM
  • Focus on basic movement, introductory volleyball skills, and fun, confidence‑building drills.

3rd–4th Grade

  • Thursdays, 6:30–7:30 PM
  • Skill development, technique refinement, and age‑appropriate gameplay concepts.

The YMCA will provide all volleyballs for practices and drills. Players should come prepared with:

  • Proper athletic shoes
  • Knee pads (optional, but recommended for comfort and safety)
