Earn your lifeguarding certification from the American Red Cross. Our courses reflect the latest techniques based on science and best practices to ensure that you are properly trained and prepared for emergencies in and around the water.

This course is a blended course with mandatory online course work that must be completed prior to the start date of the hands-on coursework. All dates and times must be attended for the full time slot.

A mandatory pre-requisite swim test must be completed before registration of the course. Swim test requires a 200 yard swim, 2 minute no-hands tread, and a 10lb brick retrival and swim. Please reach out to aquatics director to schedule your swim test.

Course fee will be waived for anyone who commits to working for the Nishna Valley Family YMCA.
